I've read several music trivia entries on various blogs, so I thought it was time to do a TV trivia one.  Because I recently acquired the first three seasons of Hogan's Heroes, my first TV trivia entry will be about that show.

Let's see how you do.  Answers will be given later.

1.  Which regular cast member later went on to host a popular American game show?   Name the actor, his role on Hogan's Heroes, and the name of the TV game show.

2.  Which regular cast member was an actual prisoner in a concentration camp during WWII.  Name the actor and his role on Hogan's Heroes.

3.  Which regular cast member appeared on The Simpsons, reprising the role he played on Hogan's Heroes?  Name the actor and his role.

4.  Which branch of the German military administered the prison camp?

5.  Who was Colonel Hogan's second in command?  Name the actor and his role.

6.  Which prisoner was the demolitions expert?  Name the character and the actor who played him.

7.  Who played General Burkhalter?

8.  Which regular cast member's father was an orchestra conductor.  Name the actor and his role and, for extra credit, name his father.

9.  What was the name of the prison camp?

10.  Which character owned the Schatzi Toy Company before the war?

11.  Which cast members got married in real life on the Hogan's Heroes set?

12.  What was the name and rank of the Gestapo officer who was a semi-regular on the show.  Name the character and actor who played him.

13.  Which regular and semi-regular characters on Hogan's Heroes were Jewish?

14.  Which regular character was murdered in real life, years after the show ended?  Name the actor and his role.

15.  What was the name of Sgt Schultz's wife?

16.  Which semi-regular cast member also played a guest role on Star Trek?  Name this person and their roles on both shows.

17.  What was the name of the German town nearest the prison camp?

18.  Hogan's Heroes was based on two movies.  Name them.

19.  Which regular character from MASH appeared several times on Hogan's Heroes as a guest star in different roles?  Name the actor and his role on MASH.

20.  Which regular character had partial Native American ancestry?

1. Crud, I'm too old and it's been too long. If RHG wouldn't have said the name I would have said the English guy who played the English guy who went on to kiss all the girls on Family Feud. 6. The french guy? 14. Wasn't it Hogan himself? Double crud, I'm answering questions with questions.

Okay, keep in mind I have NOT seen this show since the early 80's. 1. Richard Dawson and Family Feud. 2. The French guy, like Catty said. I want to call him Le Pew but that isn't right. Was it Le Beef? 8. Verner Klemperer? It was the father of the actor who played Colonel Klink. His name was Mr. Klemperer. 10. I am thinking that it was Sargent Schultz who owned the toy factory. 13. Well the french guy again. I don't know who else would have been Jewish on that show. It would have been interesting irony if it had been the gestapo guy. 14. It WAS Hogan who was murdered, the actor's name was Bob Crane. 18. I would say one of the movies was Stalag 17, which was a great movie. I would guess the other movie to be The Great Escape since there were so many similiarities between the two.
