Cynter really puts a human face on the whole hurricane experience
nightmare. While those of us far removed from the damaged areas might be
thinking "enough, I'm tired of hearing about this hurricane shit" there are
people still having their lives dramatically altered daily as a result of
the devestation. They can't just turn off the TV to get away from what has
happened down there. I wish there was a way we could all pitch in for
Cynter. I'd rather give to someone personally who could really use it than
to trust some of these "charities" to do what is right. Even legit
charities aren't equipped to deal with large influxes of money sometimes
and end up blowing it. Remember the donations debacle from the terrorist
attacks? Anyway, it would be nice if she could at least stay at a
someone's house instead of in the stadium.
i was wondering about your friend - I feel bad for her but am glad all is
relatively ok
It's great that you've heard from her again!
I agree with rosebud. It would be nice if we could help Cynter directly. I
am loosing trust in some of the “Charities” out there. I just heard about a
Red Cross snafu that cost $7500.00. In a shelter in one of the hard hit
southern states, hot meals were cooked to feed the people in other shelters
and in some of the non-evacuated areas. After the food was cooked they
realized they had no way to transport it and all the food had to be thrown
out. I hope your friend gets to go home soon!
i'm back. thanks for posting entries. thanks for the concern. *big wet one*
